The secondary had a big day with tackles as safeties Lance Mitchell and Suaesi Tuimaunei led the team in defensive points. The two combined for 32 tackles and one interception by Mitchell. Dwight Roberson had a hot and cold day, but he added two timely plays in an interception and a pass break-up that landed him on top of the linebacker unit.

Andy Dalton ran for two touchdowns and threw for another score to make up for his two interceptions and No. 6 TCU opened the season with a 30-21 victory over No. 24 Oregon State on Saturday night.

Eight months after Dalton threw three interceptions in a Fiesta Bowl loss that soured the Horned Frogs' breakthrough season, he scored on a 4-yard keeper at the end of the third quarter to put TCU ahead for good. Both his turnovers led to OSU touchdowns.
