Erika has been working very hard lately in preparation for Last Thursday. If you aren't familiar with it, it occurs on the last Thursday of every month on Alberta street in NE Portland. Each month, independent artists from the community gather together to sell their work on the street. Like First Thursday, which takes place in the Pearl, it is a popular event where many art enthusiasts peruse massive amounts of art, and take in the culture of the area. I am particularly fond of Last Thursday, as there are more entertaining sights, there's more to see and do, and the art there is less commercialized.
Preparing for this event has been an exciting time for both of us, as it will be the first time she will have sold her art publically. Granted, it won't be anything fancy. We will set-up shop on a sidewalk, so by no means is it as glamorous as a gallery. If you happen to attend Last Thursday, keep an eye out for us and stop by.
