believe it or not, the IT job market here in the pacific northwest is hot. its sizzling. many of my young fish friends have been jumping out of their ponds and into bigger lakes.

like them, i have decided to swim upstream from the mammoth ocean that is united health, and head to a flourishing fresh-water lake called ISITE Design.. many of my current colleagues have grazed in the agency world before, and i owe it to myself to try a new kind of candy.

okay enough with the metaphors; this job is going to be freaking fun. i know i'm going to be challenged, and the projects, community, and work environment are all going to very rewarding. they encourage active learning, and applying new concepts/technologies as they are hitting the industry mainstream. no more filling out forms and waiting months to get a dev environment approved and installed. on their website, they describe the team by defining the word hustle.

so in response to my previous post (do i have to comment in my own blog, since barely anyone else does?), i have found my new priority. other than adjusting to my new role, i am going to get certified. until then, though, i am on vacation! this week will most certainly be filled with some exciting reading and plenty of quality gaming on the 360.

once wednesday rolls around, it will be off to san jose to visit TRO[brandon]JAN and keziah in their somewhat new home. im excited. i actually have real-life stuff to write about for a change instead of tech stuff. oooh, that reminds me! have you guys seen this hack yet? hacking the optical drive's firmware.. now that is low-level!

oh by the way, erika is doing well, and married life is still as awesome as ever! (i know, we're still in the honeymoon phase, but you have to make the most of it). she is still really enjoying the mortgage industry, and is terribly hooked on kingdom hearts (the original, i bet she'll pick up the sequel once she finishes it). oh yeah, we finally found a cool church that we like too. im sure this will surprise some of you, since i have been adamant about my feelings against institutionized christianity for a long time, but this really is a unique community. if you ever want to go with us some sunday, let me know. post a comment {0}
