so i flew into chicago today and boy.. its freaking cold here. i walked like two blocks to dinner and my hands got completely numb. the good news, though, are that the amenities here are outstanding.
i also can't seem to stop thinking about my wife, ninjas, and getting back into music again. a certain lead singer from our old band phoned me last night about a new project that has actually gotten me excited about playing again. whats funny is the reason for me getting so excited. i realized something about simple pleasures last night.
its not about what bands you're playing with, or what your sound like, how much money you're making or what chicks think you're hot just because you're on stage. its not about reputation, venue, crowd size, or even working as a team with your friends.
i want to play music again for the same reason that i am always redesigning and redeveloping this site.. creative expression and the challenge. the idea is that you do something to see if you can do it. when you get done, you look back on it and learn from the experience. the next time you do it, you make sure you do it better. if i don't try again, then i have failed.
this site has functionally changed in a dramatic way since it's first inception back in early 2003. it doesnt get many more hits now than it did then, but apart of who i am has grown and evolved as a result of my consistent efforts in it.
anyway, enough reflective philosophical banter. the ducks got shafted out of the BCS to notre dame. now thats funny.
