About elan3

You are currently viewing the fifth version of Elan3.com. Over the last several years, this site has seen many looks, and many different builds, with the current version being an ASP.NET 3.5 / C# implementation powered by a very custom, yet utilitarian Content Management System to handle blogging and other miscellaneous proprietary data. The back-end is fueled by SQL Server 2005 with the front-end a Strict XHTML / CSS table-less layout. The fantastically awesome design was created by Patrick Craig, of dailyminefield and ISITE Design, respectively.

The concept behind this personal site, in this iteration, is provide extremely timely, interesting content that doesn't necessarily need to be generated by one author. While to many, the buzz of Web 2.0 relates to a rich user experience, with AJAX-rich features being at the epicenter. To Tim, AJAX should be used sparingly to compliment the user experience, but not distract from why the user is there in first place; the content.

That said, the goal of this site is to provide content from the communities and media of interest for Tim, his friends, his families, and those around him sharing that content interest. Community driven content is what Web 2.0 is really about.
